What are actions
Overview
Actions in Adora represent user interactions with clickable elements—like buttons, links, or modals—that move users between screens. Actions help you understand how users navigate your product and which interface elements they engage with most.
This article explains how Actions are captured, where to find them, and how to analyze or manage them—including merging duplicates when needed.
How actions are captured
Adora automatically captures Actions during user sessions whenever someone interacts with a clickable element. Each Action is tied to the screen it occurred on and becomes part of the user journey.
Where to find actions
Actions don’t have their own standalone section like Screens or Journeys. You can access them in two main ways:
From a screen
Clickmap view
In Clickmap view, clicking anywhere on a screen highlights all the clickable areas users have interacted with. Select a green-highlighted box to open the related Action page.
Learn more: Screen Details
Actions tab
On any screen, the Actions tab lists all tracked interactions. Click any listed Action to view its details.
From search
Use the global search bar to find Actions by name or keyword. Selecting an Action from the results opens its detail view.
What’s on an action page
The Action page looks similar to a screen view, but with a few differences:
A click icon appears in the top-left to indicate you’re viewing an Action.
The clicked element is outlined in green on the screen preview.
Side panel
Screens
Appears on: Where this Action exists
Links to: Where the user is taken after the Action
Sessions
All user sessions where this Action occurred
Frustrations
Frustration signals (like rage clicks) associated with the related screen
Analytics
Standard metrics, trends, and usage patterns for the Action
Filtering actions
Actions can be filtered the same way as Screens and Sessions. This helps narrow down specific behaviors, UI elements, or timeframes.
Merging duplicate actions
Sometimes, multiple buttons serve the same purpose but appear as separate Actions in Adora. This can happen due to:
Icon vs. text versions of the same button
Translated buttons (e.g., English vs. French)
UI changes that Adora can’t automatically group
To clean up your data and track interactions consistently, you can merge duplicate Actions.
⚠️ Merging is permanent and cannot be undone. Only merge Actions that are truly the same in function and destination.
To merge duplicate actions:
Open any Action
Click the three dots in the right panel
Select Merge Duplicates
Choose the Actions to combine
Click Merge Duplicates to confirm
